Early Career Pharmacist Education Series - From ACS to Heart Failure: Building Your Cardiology Toolkit (20 October 3 - 4pm)

Early Career Pharmacist Education Series

Session 4 - Tuesday 20 October 3 - 4pm (repeated on Thursday 29 October 1 - 2pm)

From ACS to Heart Failure: Building Your Cardiology Toolkit

Following our session on Acute Coronary Syndrome, join us for the next step in the cardiology journey as we explore acute and chronic heart failure.

Heart failure is one of the most common conditions pharmacists encounter across the healthcare system, from emergency presentations and acute decompensations through to long-term optimisation of therapy in the community. Understanding the underlying pathophysiology, recognising treatment goals, and knowing how our medicines improve outcomes are essential skills for every pharmacist.

In this session we'll cover:

  • How to recognise and assess acute and chronic heart failure
  • Key medicines used in heart failure and how they work
  • Guideline-directed therapy and where newer agents fit in practice
  • Common clinical challenges and practical prescribing considerations
  • The pharmacist's role in optimising patient outcomes across the continuum of care

Whether you're working in hospital, primary care, or simply looking to strengthen your cardiovascular knowledge, this session will provide practical, clinically relevant learning that you can apply immediately in practice.

Register now and continue building your confidence in managing cardiovascular disease.
